Plot Summary
Exiled from the Underworld, the former Demon Lord goes into hiding in the sleepy town of Kibbleton. Though he has resigned to his fate, the forces that rule over Up Above and the Underworld are far from done with him. Now that the peace he has longed for has been disturbed, how will this demon respond? Take on the role of this ex-Demon Lord and meet a cast of demons, angels and other magical and not so magical misfits.

Where the Demon Lurks is a mostly kinetic SFW visual novel with a few branching parts, and some occasional fan service.

So far, I'm loving this! Early on in Morris' route. The writing is great, the humor is wonderful, and there's generous use of basic animations. SUPER kudos for putting in the effort NOT to mirror sprites when it would be obvious (the store uniforms, the hearts shirt, Morris' arm, etc). I notice some characters don't have speaking sprites (like Vendrake), but this is still a very early build from the version number.
You also managed to make a flamboyantly gay character that doesn't drive me up the wall, and in fact is someone I care for, with King. (I'm bi, so it's not the sexuality of those characters that gets to me.) He's bright, confident, and affectionate without being overbearing and in-your-face. I can't wait to see how things turn out for him!
I noticed how linear it was, and coming back here I see its "mostly kinetic" so that explains things. That said, I think you might want to consider changing the narration from second person to third, since Kobu is clearly his own character, and because it's so linear. I don't feel like I'm Kobu the same way as other VN protags because of how few choices we get. So maybe make it third-person? (I know that's a LOT to rewrite, so I understand if you decide not to ^^; )
I super-appreciate that you actually have multiple body shapes available for paths--you've got the twink, the bara, and the beefcake. As a fan of softer guys, I think it's awesome that you're letting us choose like this. All three also are quite interesting. Lucien's stuck up, but clearly concerned and good at heart; Morris is surprisingly crafty for a boar (yay pigs!) and down to Earth; and Toast is adorably off the wall. As well, I've noticed that your nipples are...actually pretty tame, and that's kinda refreshing. They don't try and draw your attention, they're very simple and convey what you intend. (At least on Kobu so far, dunno how it is on the others.)
Overall, this is a lovely project, and I can't wait to see where this goes. If the story itself is already complete, as in we get an ending, I'll be VERY impressed since this is such an early build! Keep working hard, looking forward to more :)

I have only finished Lucien's route but its a fun visual novel. Plus I genuinely smiled when I saw some familiar thing in my life that none VN might explore. (

I really got invested into visual novels recently and by far this is one the best I have seen so far even though it's incomplete also i recommend other visual novels if like romantic/lore heavy novel I recommend "Repeat"(it's nsfw so I warned you ) or the other visual novel "kibbleton University" (it's also nsfw) made by the same team that made WTDL

I must applaud the team for all the hard work that's been put into this project, because not only does it look good, but it FUNCTIONS well. All the sprites, animations, UI, it's all great 😌
It's crazy to think how far xou've come from the original demo where Kobu left hell on vacation and had random sex to this full fledged tale with a compelling storyline! 😊 It's been such a fun journey

Usually it carries over but we will tell players when you have to restart. But restarting is easier here bcs it's just one linear route

Hi, thank you for your comment, but we are not sure what you mean by "gacha series for Youtube", can you please elaborate or provide some examples for us to better understand it?
Something like making the chapters (depending on how many chapters there are) of the VN to episodes and upload them in Youtube. If you say yes i will make a schedule for making the episodes because it seems i wouldn't have much time to do it because of school and if you say no i will support you, at least until i get money for Patreon.

That said though we appreciate the enthusiasm of your idea in the case of retelling the game story, we would prefer if players got to experience it firsthand rather than through a brief synopsis video. So, for the time being, we are unable to give you permission to use our assets outside the game. We do hope you're able to find something else in the future though!

This has to be one of the most interesting yet entertaining vn I have read/played especially when it comes to it's characters dynamics and world building. The characters are oh so lively and lovable that it gives the vn so much life and background and makes me want to know more of their backstory/lifestyle

I really love this visual novel especially the characters since they are well created and the design is splendid . The best part is how expressive the game is, from the simple resizing of their sprite to the most funny transitions. I am even more intrigued of the worldbuilding because it is not exaggerated, it is calm ,and it also makes you imagine how the world of this story goes. The pacing of the game is unique too because we are also viewing the story in a different perspective. I know this comment is quite long but this what I can do for my dearest Lucian. This may have no NSFW scenes but my love for Lucian is enough to make me happy and enjoy this VN. To the people behind this thank you and stay safe always.

How tall is Toast? He looks bigger than everybody else. He is my favorite of the three characters because of his fun personality.
Toast is actually 200 cm/ 6"7
I must say, this game is absolutely fantastic! I just love how the story flows and the art style! I also love all of those cutesy scenes, got to admit it all made me giggle.
SPOILER ALERT!!: I just finished playing the game by choosing those 3 options where you gotta choose who you ask help to save King. Each one have surprisingly different endings. One of them, Toast being able to have a body but can't have "a man's pride", HAHAHA. It gave me a good laugh!
Anyways, I'm looking forward for the next update. Big thanks to the creators and people involved for making this gem.
Awesome though we are still a way to go before triggering an ending, it's great to see people are noticing the difference in that one choice and hopefully more people will try the other paths.
